Outdoor Range Session 9/1/14

Our family gathered on a 7 acre "farm" yesterday. I usually take several handguns and use a creek bed embankment to shoot.
Yesterday was no exception. A couple of new shooters joined in. (family members)

A Colt .38 detective special, 9mm Sig Sauer P250, and the current carry Kel-Tec P-3AT were used.

All 3 firearms performed 100% without issue. Standard FMJ target rounds were used.

Most all of my range time was spent teaching and mentoring these new shooters on SAFETY and PROPER handling of a firearm.... Then I demonstrated how to SAFELY and PROPERLY handle a firearm.....

Having the opportunity to expose new shooters to the hobby for the first time was great fun. However over stressing SAFETY and CORRECT firearm use, ensures everyone enjoys the session, teaches good habits from the beginning, and will be the main thing these folks remember from the session. I was able to de-bunk many mis-representations, outright lies, and mis-truths that the media, movie, and other ill informed people try to paint about firearms. Please do us all a favor and use every chance you get, to intelligently demonstrate and teach others about our hobby and right to own, handle, shoot and carry (with permit) our guns.
Im glad to have helped these new shooters get off to a good and SAFE start!
