A .40 cal sub compact semi-auto has been my CCW firearm for the last 4 years. I have found that even in a compact design, it can be bulky to carry at times. It can also "print" dependent of the clothes being worn...
More and more this weapon has been stowed within reach, not on my person.
Enter - the "pocket sized" semi auto in the .380
Intended to be carried by my wife, a Kel-Tec P-3AT has been acquired.
It has NOT had range time yet, but spent the last day "on my person", where a defensive weapon should be. I can not over state how discreet, comfortable, and convenient this handgun is. If it turns out to be reliable at the range tomorrow, I have a new friend, and new friend indeed.
I have the opinion that shot placement is very important. This TINY firearm is not meant for long range accuracy, rather up close, termination of a lethal threat.
Would a larger piece of lead be better?....sure, but this is a very good compromise, IMHO.
